Qualifications & Certifications:

  • 4.0 EIPA Score or RID Certification is required
  • Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings desirable
  • Current credentials and certifications relevant to interpreting for K-12 populations
  • Solid grasp of ASL and educational terminology

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time interpretation for students, staff, and families during classroom activities and school events
  • Support students’ access to curriculum by facilitating communication between teachers and deaf or hard-of-hearing students
  • Accurately convey spoken and signed information using appropriate register and vocabulary
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams to promote student success
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with district protocols
