The contract runs from September 10th, 2026 through May 26th, 2027, offering consistent hours Monday through Friday (7:30am - 2:30pm, 35 hours per week). Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and active GaPSC SLI Educator Certification is required
- Ability and willingness to complete district fingerprinting
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational environment is highly preferred
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL), with an aptitude for both receptive and expressive skills
- Interest in working 1:1 with elementary-age students in an inclusive classroom setting
- Responsive, adaptable, and able to work well on a collaborative educational team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and effective interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language
- Provide individualized support for one 5th grade student within a general education classroom
- Facilitate active participation and understanding in class activities, ensuring access to instruction and school community
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school protocols
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote a supportive learning environment
- Contribute to progress monitoring and ongoing communication regarding student success
