Key Qualifications:
- Possess an active GaPSC Sign Language Interpreter Educator Certification
- District fingerprint clearance is required before the assignment starts
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting is preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily one-on-one interpretation for a 5th grade student in a general education classroom
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, peers, and classroom staff
- Interpret instructions, discussions, and activities to support the student’s full participation in classroom life
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity to student needs at all times
- Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to best support the student's academic and social growth
Assignment Details:
- Full-time: 7:30am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday (35 hours per week)
- Academic year: September 10th, 2026 – May 26th, 2027
- School-based setting in Cartersville, GA
