Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active GaPSC SLI Educator Certification
- District fingerprint clearance (or willingness to complete prior to start)
- Previous experience interpreting in a school setting is preferred
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Able to work the scheduled hours: 7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 5th grade student throughout the school day
- Facilitate clear communication between the student, peers, and school staff
- Support full participation in classroom lessons, activities, and school events
- Collaborate with educators to meet the individual needs of the student
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in interpreting
- Adapt interpreting strategies to fit various learning environments and content areas
