Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Chehalis, WA

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in interpreting between ASL and spoken English
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally in a school or similar educational environment
- Familiarity with IEPs and accommodating diverse student needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with students, educators, and families
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (or able to obtain before start date)
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and school events for a high school student
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to support accessible learning
- Foster inclusion and advocate for accessibility within the school community
- Monitor student engagement and provide feedback to educational teams
- Adapt interpretation styles as needed to best serve student understanding
