This contract position is conveniently located near Chicago, IL, and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 9am to 2pm, providing consistency and balance. Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)
- Experience supporting high school-aged students preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and school staff
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting services to a high school student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and educational staff
- Ensure accurate and confidential relay of spoken and signed information in classroom and school environments
- Assist in fostering an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for the student
- Follow all district, state, and professional guidelines for sign language interpreting
