Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Associate’s degree or higher
- EIPA or RID certification is welcomed but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Able to commit to 30 hours per week for the length of the school year
- Adaptable and collaborative approach for working with diverse teams
- Previous experience in K-12 educational settings is beneficial, but not mandatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
- Support students who are D/deaf or hard of hearing by ensuring equal access to education
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Maintain professional and ethical standards of interpreting
- Participate in team meetings or IEPs when appropriate
- Adapt interpreting style to meet student needs and classroom dynamics

- Pay rate will be reflective of certification and experience
