This role allows you to make a direct, positive impact on the classroom experience for students who use American Sign Language (ASL).
Key Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Associate’s degree (AA) or higher
- EIPA or RID certification is a plus, but not required—candidates with or without these qualifications are welcome
- Previous experience in school or youth settings is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Reliability and commitment to supporting students’ success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Foster clear and effective communication between staff, students, and families
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to accommodate student needs
- Adapt interpreting styles to various classroom environments, age groups, and instructional methods
- Maintain the confidentiality of student information at all times
- Participate in meetings or professional development as needed
These contract positions are for 30 hours per week and will run through the conclusion of the current school year. Compensation will be commensurate with certifications and experience.
