An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a dynamic K-12 setting for the upcoming school year. Take on a rewarding role providing one-on-one interpretation services at an onsite location near Davis, CA, working closely with students and educators to help create accessible, engaging learning environments.
This position runs from August 12, 2026 through June 4, 2027, offering 35 hours per week at a single school site. Your actual grade-level assignment will be based on your experience and preference, ensuring your skills are matched to the students who need you most.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current and active Sign Language Interpreter certification or license in California
- Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
- Experience working with K-12 students preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Must be able to reliably commute to Woodland, CA for onsite responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, one-on-one sign language interpretation for a student in an educational setting
- Support student access to classroom instruction, school activities, and peer interactions
- Collaborate with the educational team to ensure accommodations are effective and student goals are met
- Maintain accurate records of interpreted sessions and support provided
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
