Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Georgia Department of Education Sign Language Interpreter license (required; HR waivers not accepted)
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in interpreting within educational settings
- Experience providing 1:1 or small group interpretation in a school environment preferred
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a commitment to student advocacy
- Adaptable and professional, able to work full time on a consistent weekday schedule
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for a designated student during school hours
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff using ASL, supporting all classroom and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers and educational specialists to ensure student goals and learning objectives are met
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate interpretation at all times
- Document and report student progress in accordance with school guidelines
