Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or above (required)
- Experience in educational settings, with a focus on supporting K-12 students, preferred
- Comfort interpreting for a wide range of ages and academic subjects
- Strong understanding of both American Sign Language and Deaf culture
- Excellent listening, memory, and communication abilities
- Collaborative mindset and professional demeanor to work effectively with teachers and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation for students in both classroom and extra-curricular settings
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to promote full engagement in school activities
- Prepare as needed for academic subjects and adapt interpreting style to individual student needs
- Maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and impartiality in all interactions
- Work closely with educators and student support teams to encourage academic and social success
