You will work one-on-one as a dedicated interpreter, fostering clear communication and supporting accessible education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Georgia Department of Education (DOE) Sign Language Interpreter license (no HR waivers permitted)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, educators, and staff
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate direct communication between student and staff, both in classroom instruction and school-related activities
- Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in real time
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt strategies that enhance student engagement
- Monitor and adjust interpreting techniques as needed to suit changing classroom dynamics
- Maintain detailed, confidential records of interpreting assignments and student progress
