You’ll have a steady, student-focused schedule—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00am-3:30pm, and Wednesdays from 10:00am-3:30pm—with the potential to support extra-curricular activities for additional experience.
Qualifications
- Completion of Interpreter Training Program
- RID certification and/or EIPA assessment score of 4.0 or higher (per WA State law as of 2023)
- Previous school-based Sign Language Interpreter experience strongly preferred
- Valid WA State Driver’s License or equivalent proof of mobility
- Clear WSP/FBI background and sexual misconduct clearance (fingerprinting required)
Responsibilities
- Support elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a classroom setting
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpretation to academic, social, and extracurricular situations
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
