- Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5+ and a passing score on the written test
- Alternative qualifications recognized by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
- School-based Sign Language Interpreter experience preferred
