Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments
- Minimum score of 3.5 or higher on the EIPA assessment is required
- Experience supporting children in elementary grade levels, preferably in 1:1 roles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff
- Adept at fostering trust and supporting students’ academic and social success
Your Core Duties:
- Serve as a communication bridge between the student, peers, and instructional teams throughout the school day (8 am–4 pm, Monday through Friday)
- Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) to interpret classroom activities, assignments, and social interactions
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and adapt strategies to best support learning needs
- Promptly address and resolve any barriers to communication
