Qualifications:
- Current and valid Sign Language Interpreter license or demonstrated American Sign Language proficiency
- Holds an active IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Possesses a valid driver's license
- Experience supporting K-12 students in an educational setting is highly valued
- Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment
Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities between staff, students, and parents, ensuring clear, consistent communication for all parties
- Collaborate with teachers and education teams to support students’ learning and participation
- Adapt interpreting strategies to fit a range of student ages and grade levels, from kindergarten through high school
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all assignments
- Provide feedback to educational staff regarding communication access and student needs
- Assist in the promotion of Deaf culture and awareness within the school community
