Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license or substantial ASL interpreting/teaching experience
- Valid IVP card
- Current Driver’s License
- Previous experience in a school or educational environment is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to student inclusion and success
Role Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, staff, and families in classroom and school events
- Support teachers in facilitating inclusive learning experiences for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Work collaboratively with classroom educators and special education teams to ensure student participation
- Provide support for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student development
- Foster productive and trusting relationships with students of all ages, adapting communication as needed
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity in all interactions
