Desired Skills & Experience:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or above.
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly at the elementary level, is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students and staff.
- Flexibility, patience, and adaptability in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive 1:1 sign language interpretation services for a third-grade student throughout the school day.
- Support clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers, ensuring full participation in classroom activities.
- Adapt interpreting strategies to meet the unique needs of the student.
- Collaborate with educators to facilitate an inclusive academic experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards within the educational system.
