The assignment runs from early August through late May, Monday through Friday, with a 37.5-hour workweek. Based on needs, placement will occur at one of several vibrant campuses serving middle or high school students. As a valued educational partner, you’ll bridge communication and foster understanding both in instructional settings and during school-related activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials, with a minimum EIPA score of 3.5.
- Fluency in American Sign Language and strong interpreting skills.
- Familiarity with educational settings and ability to adapt in dynamic environments.
- Team-oriented attitude, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Passion for serving diverse student populations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation for students, faculty, and staff during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Accurately convey spoken information into sign language and vice versa, ensuring clarity for all parties.
- Support student engagement and understanding by facilitating communication in both academic and social situations.
- Maintain open communication with educational staff about student needs and progress.
- Adhere to ethical standards and district policies for confidentiality.
