Assignments are available in multiple communities, bringing you close to the scenic beauty and cultural charm of Hilton Head Island while working alongside dedicated educators. As a valued interpreter, you’ll be embedded within one of several school settings, ensuring each student receives clear, consistent communication access from August through May.
What we're looking for:
- Current EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Ability to adapt to various grade levels (middle, high school, K-8)
- Strong professionalism and commitment to student confidentiality
- Reliable, with excellent time management and collaboration skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing during classroom lessons, school events, and extracurricular activities
- Facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Collaborating with special education teams to ensure access to the curriculum
- Maintaining thorough documentation of services and following all school policies
This contract offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to truly engage with the school community. You’ll join a collegial network of interpreters and educational professionals committed to student growth and accessibility.
