Five positions are available for the 2026/2027 school year, offering contract roles with steady hours. In this role, you’ll work directly with students in general education classrooms, empowering them daily and fostering an inclusive atmosphere. With a weekly schedule of 30 hours, you’ll be an essential bridge in communication, both through individual student support and by assisting as needed throughout the campus.
Desired Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher for SLIs
- Consideration for experienced ASL paraprofessionals currently pursuing certification
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and interpreting in educational settings
- Previous experience in K-12 environments is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Adaptability and commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for students throughout their school day (7:40 am – 2:00 pm)
- Support students in general education settings, ensuring seamless participation in classroom instruction and activities
- Collaborate with teaching staff and campus personnel to promote access and inclusivity
- Float between classrooms as needed to provide interpreting services campus-wide
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Encourage students’ self-advocacy and independence
