Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Lumberton, North Carolina

You will play a vital role in fostering communication and inclusion within a school setting, working one-on-one with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in the State of North Carolina
- Experience in educational or school-based environments strongly preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of interpretation techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, students, and families to promote student growth
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards
Your Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities for students who are deaf/hard of hearing
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers using ASL
- Support student learning and participation in both academic and extracurricular settings
- Collaborate with educational teams to adapt instructional content and facilitate accessible learning
- Maintain accurate records of interpretation services and student progress
