Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Sign Language Interpreters to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students for the 2026–2027 school year in a full-time, onsite capacity. Play a vital role in fostering a fully accessible educational environment by facilitating communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers, and ensure that every student has the tools needed for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students throughout the instructional day.
- Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, extracurricular activities, and other school-related events.
- Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and school personnel.
- Uphold confidentiality standards in alignment with FERPA and school district policies.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers to promote student achievement.
- Prepare for interpreting assignments by reviewing lesson plans and classroom materials.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines for educational interpreters.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization or eligibility to obtain one through the Colorado Department of Education.
- Associate's degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, American Sign Language (ASL), or closely related field.
- Passing score on the EIPA Written Examination.
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5 or higher, or current RID Certification.
- Ability to satisfy all district and state employment requirements, including a background check.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Prior experience in educational interpreting and demonstrated advanced ASL proficiency are highly valued.
Schedule:
- Full-time, onsite assignment
- Monday through Friday
- Follows the district’s academic calendar
