Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026–2027 academic year. Two positions are available to work onsite, helping deaf and hard-of-hearing students achieve their full potential in an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
In this position, you'll:
- Deliver American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation throughout the instructional day for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, extracurricular activities, and other school events to facilitate clear communication.
- Foster understanding between students, educators, staff, and peers.
- Uphold confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and district guidelines.
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Review instructional materials in advance to be well-prepared for assignments.
- Maintain professional standards and adhere to ethical guidelines for educational interpreters.
What you’ll need to excel:
- Current Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization (or eligible to obtain).
- Associate's degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related field.
- Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination.
- EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or valid RID Certification.
- Ability to meet all district and Colorado Department of Education employment requirements, including background screening.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Educational interpreting experience highly valued.
This is a full-time, onsite position, following the district’s academic calendar, Monday through Friday.
