Providing vital support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, you will play a key role in facilitating communication and access to education. Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers in both one-on-one and group settings
- Support elementary-aged Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students throughout the school day, promoting academic success and inclusion
- Collaborate with teachers, special education professionals, and administrators to ensure consistency and accessibility in instructional delivery
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
- Adapt communication approach based on student needs and classroom activities
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
- Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Completion of fingerprinting requirements (status may be transferable via AHCA Clearinghouse)
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently
