Key Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum EIPA score of 3.5
- Experience in educational settings as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Strong proficiency in both receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to work one-on-one with middle school-age students
- Comfortable with onsite duties; virtual interpreting (VOCO) may be considered for strong applicants
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and staff
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one interpreting for a middle school student throughout the school day
- Accurately convey spoken language into sign language and vice versa
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt classroom communication methods as needed
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and conduct at all times
- Participate in team and IEP meetings as requested
