This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with one student (1:1), ensuring access to learning and engagement in the classroom. The current need is for part-time hours—Monday to Friday, 12:00pm to 3:30pm CST—with the possibility of expanding to full-time in the future.
Your skills will help shape a student's educational experience and promote inclusivity within the school environment. Onsite interpreting is preferred, but candidates open to VOCO are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)
- Previous experience in an educational setting is highly valued
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and resourcefulness in dynamic classroom settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a middle school student during classroom instruction and school activities
- Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Collaborate with education staff to ensure effective learning accommodations
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times
Additional Details:
- Part-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 12:00–3:30pm CST
- Contract runs through May 20, 2027, with immediate start available
- Interest in moving to full-time hours in the future will be considered
