Key Qualifications:
- Current EIPA score of at least 3.5 required
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within a school environment
- Ability to adapt interpreting style to meet student needs
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Comfort working onsite or willingness to provide virtual (VOCO) services if needed
- Professionalism, reliability, and sensitivity to student confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one interpreting for a middle school student in the educational setting
- Translate classroom instruction, discussions, and activities into American Sign Language
- Assist in bridging communication between teachers, peers, and the student
- Collaborate with educational staff and participate in meetings as necessary to support student learning
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to all confidentiality and district guidelines
