Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Okatie, SC

This contract role runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful difference throughout the school year. With four positions available across several locations, you’ll support students in one of the following settings: May River High School, Bluffton Middle School, Robert Smalls Leadership Academy (6th grade), or Battery Creek High School.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter for educational settings
- Minimum 3.5 EIPA score required to ensure confident, accurate interpretation
- Demonstrated experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students preferred
- Adaptability to work across grade levels and varying classroom situations
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, faculty, and staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between students and staff
- Support social and extracurricular participation through reliable interpretation
- Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, staff, and families on student needs and progress
- Remain flexible to assignments at one of several dynamic campus locations
