Qualifications we're seeking:
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (required)
- Demonstrated expertise in American Sign Language interpretation, especially in an educational environment
- Experience supporting young learners, ideally in elementary settings
- Commitment to in-person, on-site interpretation (virtual work is not being considered)
- Ability to build trust and strong rapport with students and educational teams
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering clear, accurate sign language interpretation during all classroom activities and school interactions
- Acting as a communication bridge between the student, peers, and educators
- Providing interpretive services for school meetings, lessons, and events as required
- Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical interpreting practices
- Collaborating closely with teachers and staff to optimize student participation and achievement
