Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Piscataway, NJ

Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated fluency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- EIPA score meeting New Jersey’s standards or national interpreter certification welcomed
- Prior experience in a school setting is a plus
- Solid understanding of Deaf culture and best practices when working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to pass all mandatory background checks in New Jersey
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers through sign language interpretation
- Support instructional activities and classroom engagement for students requiring ASL services
- Adapt interpretation techniques to suit various classroom settings and student needs
- Collaborate with educational professionals to contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when handling student information and interactions
