Qualifications:
- Current interpreter certification: Registry for the Deaf or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Experience working with children preferred
- Willingness to complete required fingerprinting (if not already on file)
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics
Responsibilities:
- Interpret in classrooms and for school activities, including extracurriculars (cheer, dance, choir)
- Provide instructional support and tutoring under teacher direction
- Assist with behavior management and adapt communication strategies to student needs
- Liaise with teachers regarding student progress and special needs
- Maintain required administrative records and attend ARD meetings
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and special events
- Ensure reliable attendance and adapt as directed by supervisors
