Qualifications:
- Interpreter certification from Registry for the Deaf or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Valid TX Driver’s License
- Experience working with children (preferred in educational settings)
- Ability to pass district fingerprint background check
- On-site availability (this is not a remote position)
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation in classrooms, ARD meetings, school events, and staff development sessions
- Support hearing-impaired students academically (including tutoring under teacher supervision)
- Assist with student behavior management and adapt to individual communication needs
- Maintain confidentiality and administrative records required by the district
- Attend professional development programs, faculty meetings, and school functions
- Additional hours for extra-curricular activities as needed
