Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- 4.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) required
- Solid understanding of deaf culture and best practices in educational interpreting
- Proven experience interpreting in K-12 school settings preferred
- Strong receptive and expressive sign language interpreting skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to in-person attendance for the duration of the contract
Responsibilities Include:
- Accurately interpret classroom lessons, activities, and meetings for students and staff
- Adapt interpreting style to suit various learning and communication needs
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student goals
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district, state, and national codes of ethics for interpreters
- Support student participation in educational, extracurricular, and community activities as needed
