Two contract positions are available: a full-time opportunity at a junior high (Fulshear, TX) running from August 11, 2026 through May 26, 2027, and a part-time, short-term role supporting high school students (Richmond, TX) during the initial weeks of the fall term. Both positions are on-site and require flexibility for occasional extracurricular hours to support activities like choir, dance, cheer, and football.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold interpreter certification from either the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or the TX Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Valid TX Driver’s License required.
- Experience collaborating with children, particularly in educational settings.
- Ability and willingness to complete any required fingerprinting for credentialing.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and student advocacy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver interpreting services within classrooms, extracurricular activities, staff meetings, ARD Committee meetings, and school events.
- Support students across junior high and high school, including one-on-one instructional needs and small group settings.
- Assist teachers by tutoring hearing-impaired students and helping maintain educational records and reports.
- Contribute to a positive school environment by effectively managing student behaviors and adapting to diverse communication needs.
- Attend required professional development, meetings, and special events as assigned.
