Make an immediate impact in educational settings by supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with general education students, serving as a bridge for communication and inclusion. With five positions available, you’ll either be paired 1:1 with students or provide support throughout the campus as needed.

You will contribute 30 hours per week in a collaborative environment, following a schedule from 7:40am to 2:00pm. These roles are designed for team players who are passionate about facilitating accessible learning opportunities for all students within general education classrooms.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Hold a 4.0 or higher EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment), required for all Sign Language Interpreters
  • Will consider ASL paraprofessionals actively working towards their certification
  • Ability to effectively interpret and translate spoken communication in real time for students
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries, ethics, and confidentiality in school environments
  • Flexible enough to work both in 1:1 settings and float within the campus when needed
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and campus communications using American Sign Language
  • Partner with classroom teachers and professionals to ensure smooth information flow
  • Foster inclusion of students in general education settings, promoting interactive participation
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and initiative within the school community
