Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Tracy, California

Five skilled interpreters are needed, each working 32.5 hours per week in a consistent weekday schedule from 7:40 AM to 2:00 PM. In this role, you’ll be assigned primarily to individual students, but may also assist by floating between classrooms as needed, facilitating communication and promoting full classroom participation.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (required)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and receptive/interpreting skills
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or school settings
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, teachers, and staff
- Adaptability to support both one-on-one and group interpreting needs
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students in general education settings
- Support comprehension in classroom discussions, activities, assemblies, and extracurricular events
- Adapt interpretation methods and techniques to meet diverse communication styles
- Collaborate with classroom instructors to ensure equitable access to curriculum
- Assist with floating between students and classrooms if required, based on school needs
