- Elementary educational setting
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Sign Language Interpreter license
- Possess an EIPA score of 3.5 or above; or current RID certification
- Experience in K-12 school settings preferred
- Strong verbal, nonverbal, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to arrive onsite prior to the student each day and be fully prepared for their arrival
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one interpretation for a student throughout the school day
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to maximize student participation
- Accurately interpret spoken language, classroom instruction, and student communication
- Adapt interpreting techniques to various educational activities and settings
- Serve as a vital communication bridge between student, peers, and staff
