Key Qualifications:
- ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher, demonstrating strong proficiency in American Sign Language
- Valid license or certification to practice as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience working in a pediatric setting, ideally in a 1:1 support role within schools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and families
- Strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized sign language interpretation for a student in a school setting
- Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and school staff
- Support the student’s academic and social development through accurate and age-appropriate interpreting
- Adapt interpreting style to classroom activities and student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional practice standards
