Sign Language Interpreter in Walnut Creek, CA

Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state-level, as applicable)
- Experience working in an educational or classroom setting is highly desirable
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students
- Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate real-time interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for all class instruction periods and activities
- Support a 3rd-grade student’s learning and classroom participation by ensuring complete access to verbal and written content
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to prepare for daily lessons and activities
- Maintain neutrality and strict confidentiality regarding student information
- Provide feedback to educators as needed on accessibility or communication strategies
This full-time contract offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 8 hours per day within a friendly and supportive school environment. You’ll have the chance to see the direct results of your expertise and support in a child’s educational journey.
