Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- EIPA score of at least 3.5 required
- Credentialed as a Sign Language Interpreter (certification preferred)
- Experience working one-on-one with students in educational settings
- Collaborative approach and strong interpersonal communication skills
- School psychologist experience or background an advantage
- Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to student success
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpretation for one early elementary student
- Support communication between student, peers, and educational team
- Foster an inclusive classroom experience, ensuring the student’s participation and understanding
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards and district guidelines
- Collaborate closely with educators, specialists, and school psychologists as needed
- Offer input on strategies to improve access and learning outcomes
