Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- EIPA score of at least 3.5 (required)
- Experience interpreting in school or educational settings
- Ability to skillfully provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
- Relevant certifications preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Passion for supporting students with unique learning needs
- Professionalism, reliability, and flexibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, effective sign language interpretation for a student in an early elementary classroom
- Facilitate communication between student, teachers, peers, and staff
- Adapt interpretation methods to suit changing instructional settings and student needs
- Partner with school psychologists, educators, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom experience
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
- Attend team meetings and contribute insights to support student progress
This role offers a meaningful way to help students thrive while working within a supportive community. The schedule runs from August 10th, 2026 to May 26th, 2027, with a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, onsite only.
