Required Skills & Experience:

- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Flexibility to adapt interpreting strategies for a variety of instructional settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing in classroom and school activities
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers during lessons, assemblies, and other school events
- Adapt signing levels and vocabulary based on student needs and educational content
- Participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings when required
- Maintain accurate documentation of interpreting assignments and student progress
- Support the development of inclusive educational opportunities by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Uphold professional standards and adhere to the code of ethics for interpreters
