Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • National certification in sign language interpretation (RID/NAD or equivalent strongly preferred)
  • Experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a positive attitude for travel assignments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in classroom and school activities
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure effective communication and learning
  • Maintain confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards
  • Support student engagement and inclusion
  • Accurately convey spoken information using ASL or other required communication modes
