Key Details:
- Onsite assignment at an inclusive high school setting.
- 20 hours per week; schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
- The caseload features a total of 12 high school students, with one student assigned per class for interpretation.
- This contract opportunity begins August 10th, 2026 (with institute/training days) and ends May 20th, 2027.
Desired Credentials and Experience:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with ISBE Approval, or EIPA 3.0–3.4 with Illinois State Board of Education Interim Approval.
- BEI or NIC credentials also accepted with ISBE Approval.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with secondary grade students.
- Proven track record of professionalism, reliability, and engagement in school settings.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
Primary Duties:
- Provide direct sign language interpreting for high school students in classroom and school-based settings.
- Ensure clear and accurate communication between students, faculty, and peers.
- Support the diverse learning and accessibility needs of students within both academic and social settings.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies related to student support services.
