This contract opportunity offers both full-time and part-time schedules starting August 10th, 2026, and concluding May 20th, 2027. Your expertise will be vital in facilitating communication for high school students, ensuring inclusive learning environments.
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approval, or
- EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval, or
- BEI or NIC certification with ISBE Approval
- Demonstrated experience interpreting for high school students is preferred
- Commitment to onsite work Monday through Friday
- Strong collaboration skills and respect for student confidentiality
- Adept at adjusting interpreting styles for various class needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide American Sign Language interpreting services for high school students in classroom and school-related settings
- Support one student per class, adjusting services to maximize learning, participation, and engagement
- Collaborate with educational staff and administrators to meet student needs effectively
- Participate in required training and institute days prior to the school year’s start
- Maintain accurate logs related to service provision and student support
Schedules Available:
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm, split between two schools (grades K–12)
- Part-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–12:00pm at one high school (grades 9–12)
