Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Centralia, Washington
Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter and American Sign Language (ASL) educator in a vibrant school setting near Centralia, WA. This full-time role allows you to make a significant impact, working directly with a high school student across one or two school sites, only about 20 minutes apart. You'll be instrumental in ensuring effective communication and promoting inclusive learning experiences.
Candidates must hold an EIPA Score of at least 3.5 and demonstrate their expertise in both interpreting and teaching American Sign Language. The position runs from September 1, 2024 (preferred start for orientation and prep before the first day of school on September 3) through to June 15, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher
- Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments
- Proficiency in teaching American Sign Language
- Ability to work independently and travel between sites as needed
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and accessible classroom environment
Position Highlights:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Approx. 32.5 hours weekly
- Hours: M-Th 7:30am–2:30pm, Fri 7:30am–1:30pm
- Serve a dedicated high school student across 1–2 sites
- Orientation and onboarding prior to school start
