Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Rochester, Washington

Key Qualifications:
- A minimum EIPA score of 3.5
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within educational settings
- Proficiency in interpreting for students and collaborating with educational teams
- Ability to manage travel between 1-2 school sites (within 20 minutes of each other)
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to foster supportive learning environments
What You’ll Do:
- Provide interpretation services for a high school student, ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction, extracurriculars, and social interactions
- Facilitate understanding and communication among students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language
- Adapt interpreting style to meet the diverse needs present within a school community
- Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and respect for student privacy
- Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless integration of services across school sites
This contract position offers a consistent schedule at 16.25 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 15, 2027. The role centers on serving one student, with a focus on continuity and quality support during the school day.
