Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); advanced interpreting skills required
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or educational environment preferred
- Comfortable working 1:1 with students with additional sensory needs
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit students with vision impairments
- Strong interpersonal skills; enthusiasm for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Outgoing and friendly approach to engaging with students and colleagues
Responsibilities:
- Provide ASL interpretation for all classroom instruction, peer interactions, and related activities for a single 7th grade student
- Modify interpreting techniques to address both auditory and visual support needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to support educational and social inclusion
- Foster a supportive, engaging environment that encourages student participation
- Maintain accurate records and uphold professional standards of confidentiality
