Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification or proof of interpreter training
- Experience providing sign language interpretation in educational or school-based environments
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the principles of effective, ethical interpreting
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff in dynamic settings
- Excellent English language and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate interpretation services for students and staff in classrooms and school activities
- Facilitate effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and school personnel
- Interpret a variety of subject matter and adapt your approach to meet individual student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Support educational goals by contributing insights to the student support team
