Two dynamic contract roles are now available working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, supporting their engagement and full participation in school environments. Both full-time and part-time assignments are offered in the Grayslake, IL area at well-respected educational centers.
Key Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting.
- Must hold one of the following credentials, all requiring Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 with ISBE Interim Approval
- BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC credentials
- Ability to promote positive communication between students, staff, and peers.
- Flexibility to work as part of a collaborative educational team.
Position Details:
Position 1:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm at a specialized educational center in Vernon Hills
- Assignment from ASAP through May 28, 2027
Position 2:
- Morning schedule, Monday–Friday, 8am–12pm at a local high school in Grayslake
- Assignment from ASAP through May 20, 2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign language interpretation in academic and social settings
- Facilitate classroom participation and help foster student independence
- Support individualized needs for students as directed by educational team
